Description
Blanco tequila is the basic tequila, so to speak. When the distillery is running the distillation process, they will work their way to the desired alcohol strength, and that spirit is the blanco tequila. It is un-aged tequila. While the category is usually described as un-aged, it IS actually legal to rest the spirit in up to 60 days. Some use oak barrels, but the most common option is by far steel tanks. Why would you do that, you might ask? To settle the flavours! If the spirit is allowed some resting before it is bottled, the flavours and eventual flavour profile will settle and become more distinctive.
The El Amo Tequila Blanco is rested in steel tanks before bottling. It is a cool, relaxed, slightly peppered and very pleasing blanco tequila with a fine viscosity.
